Sterile Corn Spawn Bag

Our sterile corn spawn bags have been prepared with the utmost care to guarantee optimal results for both novice and experienced mycologists. The corn is carefully hydrated to the perfect moisture content and then thoroughly sterilised to create a contamination-free environment for your mycelium.

Each bag has a self-healing injection port, allowing you to easily and sterilely inject your liquid culture or spore suspension. The integrated 0.2μm filter valve ensures optimal gas exchange while keeping contaminants out of the bag.

Instructions for use

1. Inoculation: Inject 2.5-5cc of your liquid culture  or spore suspension  into the injection port. Put on clean gloves to prevent contamination.
2. Incubation: Place the bag in a dark place at room temperature (20-24°C).
3. Colonisation: When you see that the mycelium has grown to about 7-10 cm, gently knead the bag to spread the colonised grain. This will speed up the whole process.
4. Ready for your monotube: As soon as the whole bag is white with mycelium, you can mix the contents with substrate in your monotub. Mix about 1 part colonised grain with 5 parts substrate for the best results.

These sterile corn spawn bags are the perfect starting point for your magic mushroom culture. Once your monotube is fully colonised, you can expect multiple flushes (harvests).

Which mushrooms can you grow?

These spawn bags are perfect for all kinds of Psilocybe cubensis species such as Golden Teacher or Mexican and all the others. They are also suitable for delicious edible mushrooms such as oyster mushrooms in different colours, shiitake and Lion's Mane.

For some special varieties such as Psilocybe cyanenscens , azurescens or zapotecorum , you use this bag as an intermediate step. These mushrooms grow better on wood chips  or straw . In that case, you use the fully colonised grain from this bag to mix with those materials for the final mushrooms.

Storage

You can store the unopened bags at room temperature, as long as they are kept out of direct sunlight. They do not need to be refrigerated and will keep for several months.
