Ergine or LSA

Posted under: News and Science

Ergine is also know as LSA, d-lysergamide, and LA-111. LSA stands for d-lysergic acid amide and is the chemical name of Ergine. It is an alkaloid that can cause a psychedelic effect.

According the Erowid Vault LSA has the potency 1/10 to 1/30th that of LSD. It has some similarities in effect to LSD, but is generally considered much less stimulating and can be sedating.

Both the Hawaiian Baby Woodrose (Argyreia nervosa) seeds as the Morning Glory (Ipomoea violacea) seeds contain the natural psychedelic of LSA.

The use of the psychoactive seeds or roots was common in Aztec rituals and still used by some native tribes in South America.

The LSA containing seeds can be consumed directly or as an extract.
