The Psilocybe Cubensis species

The Ecuador magic mushroom is a psilocybe cubensis, a specie of psychedelic mushroom whose main active elements are psilocybin and psilocin.  

The psilocybe cubensis species is the most well known psilocybin mushroom. This is because they have been widely distributed and very easy to cultivate.  It is even easier if you decide to fo for a mushroom cultivation kit. As all you will need to do is add water and wait for mother nature to take its course. 

A bit of history and visual description

The Ecuadorian Magic mushroom strain was initially found at 1100+ m of altitude in the Highlands Region of Ecuador.  The Andean region is the most visited region in Ecuador.  It is very variate in terms of natural diversity.  It runs the length of Ecuador and splits the country in two from north to south.

The Ecuadorian cubensis is as robust as mushrooms come. No surprise there, it comes from a region that is known for being quite rough in terms of its environment. This is what makes the Ecuador magic mushrooms cultivation easier.

You can recognize the Ecuador magic mushroom by its very particular characteristics.  It has a long, thick and meaty stalk and large caramel caps 

Cubensis mushrooms in Ecuador and the whole Andes region have been used by pre-Columbian Mesoamerican cultures.

They used it   to induce altered states of consciousness in healing rituals and religious ceremonies.  This is evidenced by the Mushroom stones dating from 3000 BC that have been found in ritual contexts in Mesoamerica.  

Today, local shamans and healers still use the Ecuador mushrooms in ritual ceremonies .

Ecuador Cultivation information

The Ecuadorian magic mushrooms are tough! Just like the habitat they come from. With an average length of 10m-13 cm, it is one of the largest of the cubensis mushrooms. 

The may take a bit longer than others to colonize, but they are quite resistant, making it quite popular if you are a newcomer to mycology.

There are two ways to grow your Ecuadorian magic mushrooms. 

Grow Ecuadorians with a mushroom grow kit

The first way is the easiest way. Use of a Ecuadorstrain mushroom grow kit. 

All you need to do is add water and wait for the magic to grow.

The process for the GetMagic Ecuador magic mushroom grow kit is as follows:  

1. Fill the grow box with luke water until the substrate is submerged and let the grow kit soak for 5 minutes
2. Pour the excess water out of the grow box and place the grow box inside the bag we provide.
3. Fill the grow bag with a cup (200-250ml) of
   lukewarm water (20°C). Then fold the top of the bag and close it with 2 paperclips.
4. Place the grow kit in a place with 20-25°C average room-temperature. Make sure
   that the grow kit is not in direct sunlight, not under a lamp and not near a
   radiator/heat source
5. When the first pinheads* are visible, let some fresh air into the grow bag on a daily
   basis (for a few minutes) and then moisten the grow kit with a misting bottle.
6. Wait until mother nature does its work, usually 12 to 15 days :-) for the first pins

Grow Ecuadorians mushrooms from spores

The second way to grow Ecuadorian magic mushrooms is using spores.  Magic mushrooms spores are like the seeds of the magic mushrooms. The spores germinate in mycelium and the mycelium sprouts the mushrooms. The Mushrooms produce the spore and the cycle continues.

The Ecuador Mushroom Trip

The trip of the Ecuadorian magic mushroom can variate from person to person. Reports suggest that they can induce you into a euphoric state of mind that is dreamy and quite relaxing.  There are many reports of visual experiences. 

The initial effects of the Ecuadorian Mushrooms can be very intense, no wonder the Shamans of the Andean regions favored this strain for their rituals, as you can enter and back out from states like a powerful tide in a seafront harbor.

Keep in mind that the kind of trip will depend on many elements: personality, where you are, whom you are with, what you ate and if you are mixing up with other substances or alcohol (it is best not to do this).  It can be an amazing experience, some say a life-changing experience if you follow basic rules the we outlay further down.

In this section you will find that in order to have the best experience, you have to plan ahead, ideally a couple of days before so you can mentally and physically prepare yourself for the mind broadening experience. There are certain precautions that you should take especially when you have never had an experience with the psychedelic mushrooms. 

• You must be over 18 to try Magic Mushrooms.
• Enjoy this experience with a friend or Tripsitter who remains sober and who could help you in case of need.
• Never exceed the recommended dose.
• Smoking weed or taking other substances when taking magic mushrooms is  not recommended.  It can  be dangerous and make the trip shorter.  Avoid mixing.
• Drink a lot of water during the trip.
• If you’re not feeling fine and you want to ' stop'  your trip, take vitamin C or something sweet (an orange juice would be perfect) to lower the effects.
• When having a bad trip, the best you can do is to try to relax and talk about the experience, changing the setting also can work.

Ecuador magic mushroom Dosage

The typical dose for most magic mushrooms, even the Thai Magic Mushroom, is between 1 and 2.5 grams of dried shrooms, you can find the perfect dosage using EROWID's dosage calculator.  There is also the Shroomery dosage calculator which you can check out here. 

Many advanced users will say these quantities are too small, but they are safer for a beginner.   We believe the best is to remain below 1g if you are getting started, at least until you start to feel comfortable with the experience, the idea is to go gradually into higher doses.
